Fencing and Outdoor Entertaining

With the temperatures rising, we’re sure that many of you are itching to take advantage of your home’s outdoor area. You’re ready to trade closed-toed shoes for sandals and make your favourite meal on the barbecue. Whether you know it or not, there’s a key player that you should keep in mind. We’re talking about fences. Not what you expected? Were you thinking more along the lines of light party fare and the hit pop music for the season? These are important to, but today, Baxton Property Management is teaming up with Taylor Fencing, an expert on premium, custom fencing installations, to discuss why exactly you should make sure that a top-notch fence RSVP’s yes, to your next soiree.

The first reason may be the most obvious – safety. With the right fencing product in place, you can keep all of your friends and family in, and those that didn’t make the guest list- out. Nobody wants a party crasher, and nobody wants to be the one to sternly address said party crasher, so a fence is a great way to avoid this. Granted, your fence doesn’t need to be a fortress of steel. With advances in engineering, in design, and in architecture, more and more options become available.

Maybe you want to look into a white picket fence, something that provides a barrier, without being overwhelming. Another great option is a wrought iron fence, one that isn’t of significant height. With either, you’ll want to ensure that it goes with the aesthetic of your dream home. Maybe you’re on the other end of the spectrum, and you’d like to build a blockade between you and the outside. In this case, you don’t need to sub out style for function; COLORBOND is a fun and smart way to go.

The next reason may be a bit more of a curveball – fences can be surprisingly great canvases for party decorating. They’re the perfect place to string seasonal lights. They’re the perfect place to prop decorations for holidays like the upcoming Halloween. And they’re great backdrops to hang photos, posters or accessories. Maybe you’re planning a birthday party for your parents, and you want to celebrate the wonderful things that they’ve done over the past year. You could easily print photos and tack them straight on to the fence. Just make sure that you take them off post-party…

Finally, fences are a necessity for outdoor entertaining, because they are foundational to actually planning! You’ll want to arrange your food and beverage, potentially your entertainment, and definitely seating areas for your guests to relax after they’ve cut it up on the dance floor. With a fence in place, you know exactly how much space you’re working with, and can even design overheads to put the party planner in you, at ease.
